Abruzzo, Italy Training Camp Information

At, our goal is to provide structured training camps that will boost the fitness, skill level and training knowledge of cyclists. Our camps are held in the cycling friendly region of Abruzzo, Italy with topography that will captivate and challenge cyclists of all levels and ages. Instead of moving from place to place, packing and un-packing, we spend the entire camp in one (or sometimes two) locations and take advantage of time on the bike instead of time on the bus to explore the picturesque cycling terrain of Abruzzo. This format allows riders to truly get a sense of the culture, the people and the lifestyle of rural Italy. It also allows afternoon and evening free time to explore new places, to see historical sights, to relax and have a massage and to re-fuel for the next ride to come. The training rides will incorporate roads along the Adriatic Sea, into the rolling hill towns and up to the high points of the Maiella Mountains. Rides will be led by the staff and by local guides. These camps are limited to 12 riders and will fill quickly. Non-riders are certainly welcome, but priority is given to the riders.

Come join the “Squadra” for the cycling adventure of a lifetime!

About Abruzzo:
Located on the “calf” of the “boot” that is Italy, the region of Abruzzo is the best kept secret in Italy. The terrain in Abruzzo is a blend of rolling hills (similar to Tuscany), beautiful coastline (along the Adriatic Sea) and high snow-capped mountains similar to those further north in the Dolomites and the Italian Alps. In the winter/spring, you can be skiing in the morning and swimming in the sea in the afternoon as many of the high mountains are a mere 50 kilometers from the sea! All this wonderful terrain combined with great roads, friendly people, unbelievable food and wine and the low key Italian vibe makes Abruzzo an obvious choice for Cycling Training Camps!

Riders attending the camps can chose between a stay in a traditional Italian house with a kitchen or a full service hotel. Single, double and triple rooms available. Teams and clubs may prefer the house setting for their group.

The Rides :
There are many options when it comes to rides! The camps will be structures to incorporate flat, rolling and hilly terrain, with “hard” and “easy” days. However, true to the Italian lifestyle, everything is an option! Riders can opt for shorter routes or days off as needed. In this way, everyone can enjoy the trip to the fullest! Typical days will include a leisurely breakfast at the house or hotel. Roll out for the ride usually between 9 and 10 am with a quick stop at the local coffee shop for some of Italy’s best! Then…we ride! Usually we stop for a quick lunch, or a relaxed lunch, on the road depending on the distance that day (distances will range from 40-100 miles). Most rides will be complete by mid-afternoon leaving plenty of time for R & R , shopping and further exploration.

Costs : is pleased to offer theses 10 day camps which include: ground transportation (from/to Rome Fiumicino), comfortable accommodations, all breakfasts, 4 dinners, structured and guided training days and a daily dose of la dolce vita for a very reasonable price.
